"You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them."
I chose this verse because it brought me back to the Election time back in November. On that weekend, I went out to eat with my Jodey(James' mom), Jackie (James' sister) , James, and the rest of his family. Although, on your way there, Jackie decide to bring up the elections and, so we talked about it.Jackie asked her mom what she voted on and Jodey said "I voted for Obama, but only because I want a younger guy in the White house or someone new/fresh." And Jackie was like ok. Then she brought up the props. This is where it all started. Then she asked about all the props. When we got on prop 8,Jackie asked if Jodey voted no. But, Jodey said "No, I voted Yes, I don't believe in that." In my mind, I said HALLELJUAH. Then, Jackie started arguing in defense for voting no on prop 8. Then, it was obvious that Jodey didn't know what to come-back with, so that where I come in. I being, educated at school with the correct way of arguing about your faith in Apologetics class and Applied Ethics class, told Jackie that voting yes doesn't mean you're super religious. It can, also, mean you're a traditionalist or you believe in the basics or traditions that you grew up in. Then, after, she stopped talking and it was quiet. In my mind, I was saying THANK YOU JESUS. Honestly, it was weird, because it just came out of no where and I was quiet the whole time until that part. But, I thank Jesus for that. It was AMAZING. HE IS AMAZING!
